How does it work?
Step 1 – If you are a suitable candidate, your dentist will take digital impressions and photos, and collect other information about your teeth. They then use special 3D technology to create a personalised plan, which shows how your teeth will move and also how they will look after treatment.
Step 2 – When the aligners are ready, you will wear a different one every two weeks until the carefully controlled force shifts your teeth to a better position.
Step 3 – Treatment times will vary depending on your individual issue, but most cases are completed in 6-12 months. We recommend they are kept in place for 22–24 hours per day, as this will ensure the aligners are moving your teeth as scheduled.

Removeable Appliance
Invisalign Aligners should only be removed for eating and cleaning. We recommend they be worn at least 20 hours every day. This gives patients the option of removing the appliance temporarily for special events like weddings, job interviews or heart- stopping first dates.

Eat what you like
While the discreteness of Invisalign and the ability to eat what you want are major pros, ensuring that you are eating and drinking only when your trays are out is extremely important. The only time you don’t have to remove your trays is when you are drinking water. Eating with Invisalign in can damage your trays, as the force of your teeth are very strong when you chew.
Aftercare
You may feel minor discomfort when a new aligner is fitted but this is usually just a feeling of pressure and a good indicator that the treatment is working. Following treatment, as with all orthodontic methods, you will need to wear a retainer to stop your teeth from moving back to their former position.
